A/Professor Vicki Kotsirilos is a general practitioner with over 30 years of experience at the Dunstan Dental & Medical in Melbourne ( Vicki combines evidence-based complementary therapies including acupuncture, nutritional and herbal medicine with mainstream healthcare to provide a integrative, whole-person solution for her patients.

Vicki’s passion for integrative medicine research lead her to author the respected textbook A guide to evidence-based integrative and complementary medicine (Elsevier, 2011).  She is a regular contributor for Medical Observer, publishing a monthly column on evidence-based Integrative Medicine, she has had over 120 medical articles published, and circulates research updates to Australian doctors.

Vicki was the Founding Past President of the Australasian Integrative Medicine Association (AIMA) and served as an active board member of AIMA for 20 years. During this time she forged positive relationships with both government and peak medical bodies. 

Vicki was also the founding Chair of the RACGP Integrative Medicine Working group. She served on a number of state and federal Government committees, such as the Therapeutic Goods Administration, Complementary Medicine Evaluation Committee, and as the GP member of the Adverse Drug Reactions Advisory committee. Vicki also served on the AMA Victorian Council and worked for the Medical Panels, Victorian Workcover.

She is a GP Affiliate with Monash University, and an Associate Professor at La Trobe University, ‘Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition’ Faculty of Health Sciences; and continues to work for federal government regulatory bodies.

In 2007, Professor Kotsirilos was awarded the General Practice Excellence award by AGPAL; in 2013 she received an Honorary Fellowship Award by the RACGP; and in 2016 she was appointed as a Member of the Order (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia for

“significant service to integrative medicine, to health practitioner standards and regulation, to medical education, and to the environment.”
